Why We Exist?

Welcome to Healthy Roots Avocado Nursery, a new initiative dedicated to producing high-health Hass avocado seedlings for farmers across Kenya. Our nursery is currently under development, with the first batch of true to type certified seedlings expected in April 2026. We invite you to follow our journey as we prepare to launch a new era of sustainable avocado farming.

Healthy Roots Avocado Nursery is a startup project focused on transforming avocado farming through the production of high-health, phytosanitary-certified seedlings. Founded by a team of professionals and sustainability advocates, our goal is to empower farmers with reliable planting material and technical support.

Our Seedlings

Our first batch of avocado seedlings will be available starting April 2026. These seedlings are being propagated under strict phytosanitary conditions to ensure they are free from Phytophthora cinnamomi and other soil-borne pathogens.

Seedling Varieties (Planned):

  • Hass Avocado – Market-preferred, high-yielding

Seedling Features:

  • True to type – Hass seedlings
  • Propagated in sterile media
  • Solar-powered irrigation and fertigation
  • Root health monitoring and disease prevention protocols

Expected Pricing:

  • Estimated at KES 300 per seedling
  • Bulk order options will be available

Training & Support

Building Capacity from the Ground Up

While our seedlings are still in development, we are actively preparing training modules and support systems to help farmers succeed once planting begins.

Planned Training Topics:

  • Orchard establishment and layout
  • Disease and pest management
  • Irrigation and fertigation systems
  • Harvesting and post-harvest handling

Training Launch:

  • First sessions expected to begin in Q1 2026
  • Cluster-based outreach and on-site training will be available
